ISO 14001 Certificate

ISO 14001 Certificate

We have developed an environmental protection policy to promote global environmental preservation, in which we especially focus on marine environmental protection activities. We have drawn up a manual complying with the requirements of ISO 14001, which is an international standard for environmental protection, and the manual has been certified by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai(Class NK). Placing priority on controlling marine pollution prevention, our entire team -both seamen and shore-side staff- are making concerted efforts to reduce the burden on the global environment.

Installation Sox scrubber

Sox Scrubber

Sox Scrubber

Kyoei Tanker has installed Sox scrubbers on a total of four vessels in order to comply with the sulfur content regulations of fuel oil by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Adoption of Electronic Control Engine

Kyoei Tanker uses an electronically controlled main engine for the VLCC. With this engine, the daily fuel consumption of VLCC can be reduced by about 20% compared to the mechanically controlled type, and CO2 emissions can be reduced accordingly, which is excellent in environmental performance.

Early response to the Law Concerning the Discharge and Control of Fluorocarbons

At Kyoei Tanker, products that have cleared the global warming potential standard required by manufacturers by 2025 under the Law Concerning the Discharge and Control of Fluorocarbons will be installed in new ships from FY2019 onward at an early stage.

Continuous Efforts to Reduce Exhaust Gas and Waste

Kyoei Tanker continuously monitor the amount of exhaust gas from the engine, EEOI value, and the amount of waste such as plastic waste every quarter.
In addition to the above, we are also focusing on reducing plastic waste. Set reduction targets every year, reduce unnecessary packaging in cooperation with suppliers to achieve the targets, and continue to consider the introduction of new waste treatment equipment and review waste treatment procedures to improve the environment. We are continuing our efforts for the future.
