Company History

March, 1937 Kyoei Tanker Co., Ltd. established in Kobe.
July, 1949 Kyoei Tanker broken up under Corporate Rehabilitation Law, and Kyoei Kisen Kabushiki Kaisha is established with in-kind contribution and cession from the former Kyoei Tanker.
July, 1949 Changes corporate name to Kyoei Tanker Co., Ltd.
May, 1951 Carries out the seventh planned shipbuilding and embarks on ocean-going tanker operations.
September, 1956 Accepts on trust the operation of a tanker, M/V Tsubame Maru, owned by Maruzen Oil Co., Ltd. (present Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd.)
June, 1960 Establishes Shinei Kaiun Kabushiki Kaisha and separates coastal shipping operations.
February, 1961 Lists on the First Section of Osaka Securities Exchange
October, 1961 Lists on the First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange
November, 1961 Increases capital to 1.6 billion yen.
December, 1963 Joins NYK Group due to maritime consolidation under the Shipping Reconstruction & Development Law
June, 1965 Relocates head office from Kobe City to Tokyo.
September, 1970 Builds the VLCC, M/V "Kyoei Maru."
October, 1970 Establishes Gloria Bahama Ltd.(currently a consolidated subsidiary)
December, 1973 Builds the VLCC, M/V "Taiei Maru."
March, 1985 Accepts all seamen of Daikyo Tanker Kabushiki Kaisha, and charters three tankers : M/V "Suzuka Maru," M/V "Tokai Maru," and M/V "Daikyo Maru."
May, 1986 Builds the VLCC, M/V "Cosmo Galaxy" (250,298 D/W)
November, 1986 Builds the VLCC, M/V "Cosmo Venus" (250,267 D/W)
August, 1989 Establishes Ocean Link Maritime S.A. (currently a consolidated subsidiary)
March, 1992 Increases capital to 2.85 billion yen.
